Public Access to Judicial Administrative Records

(other than case files and adjudicative records)

Effective January 1, 2010, Rule 10.500 of the California Rules of Court sets forth comprehensive public access provisions applicable to judicial administrative records (for the text of the Rule, click here).

For Court Cases or Court Documents

If you would like copies of a court case or court documents, please contact records:

You will need to include:
  • Case Number
  • Parties Involved
  • Approximate Filed date of the document or description
  • Self-addressed postage paid envelope

For Administrative Records

If you would like copies of administrative records (not court files), please direct requests to:

Requests shall include:
  1. Requester's name, organization or business, address, telephone number and e-mail address
  2. Description of information requested
  3. Indicate whether the requested records will be used to further any commercial, trade or profit interest
  4. If you recently requested these materials from someone else at this court, please indicate that person's name and date of that request

Records may be subject to payment of a fee (see Fee Guidelines and subdivision (e)(4) of rule 10.500). Requests can also be made in person at the address above from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please note that the court observes all state holidays.
